My kayaking buddy Jon Michaels performed live at the Rhythm at the River event last night!  It was great to hear him perform live!

Jon’s music is heartfelt and draws on many of his life experiences.  He is a new father, and one of my favs is his song “I Hear a Clock”.  Puts a new spin on the biological clock for us guys.

Jon and I met on the Palmetto Paddlers website.  He and I both have a recently discovered passion for kayaking and had the opportunity to go kayaking together a few weeks ago.  He also enjoys diving, photography, and music.  As you can imagine, we had lots to talk about. <grin>  If all goes well, we will be heading down the Congaree River from Columbia with the hope of making it all the way to Charleston!

As my first official post, I wanted to share a quirky ‘figure study’ of our cat, Meow Meow.  He has become my muse, inspiring me to pick my camera up strictly for fun and self-expression.

This will also serve as a test of the new system, as I am still fine-tuning the Blog setup.

Well, after nearly a decade of being in business, several hundred weddings, and exciting jobs all over the South East, I’m FINALLY setting up a blog.  To be fair, I have both a business and personal account on Facebook, and I have been known to Twitter on occasion.  Not TOO behind the times I guess <grin>.

From what I hear, blogs are becoming a relic on the early 2000’s.  Everyone is so addicted to the fast paced format of IM, Twitter, and Facebook that blog posts seem to have fallen by the wayside.  Crazy how things change, eh?

For me, a blog still seems like the ideal way to share information about who I am, what I do, and the adventures that life always throws my way.  To that end, I am going to try to get this blog up and running, and to commit to adding new content at least once a week.
